Come and explore some of the finest mountain terrain in the Highlands.
Hope you are all well and have had a good start to the New Year!!
As you may be aware we are coming towards the end of our Crowdfunder project with the last ten days looming. We have done fantastic so far but still need to make our target of £8000 to be successful. We could not have got this far without you and we really appreciate that but we need you now more than ever to keep spreading the word. We want to finish strong whether we make our target or not, so please, if you can take the time to share some of our posts with people you might think will be interested. Pledges start at £1 and there are opportunities to take advantage of our services starting at £10. We are in an awesome location and want to share it with you and hopefully leave you with some great life long memories :)
Thank you so much for your support so far!!
We also wanted to take this opportunity when friends, family and future friends have been activley been promoting our project to use some of the internet hype to promote another Crowdfunder project launched by a friend of ours who is raising funds to get her business back on its feet after it was hit by the floods in caused by Storm Desmond.
The flooding in Cumbria and else where in the country has been absolutley devestating for many especially as much of it took place over the festive period creating much un-needed stress and finacially worry for those affected.
Having lived in Ambleside for many years and through the floods that caused so much damage just a few years ago we know that many of our friends there have been badly affected and need some help.
Our good friend Vick Ainsworth of The Pizza Place Ambleside has launched a Crowdfunder to help her get business back up and running.
She is offering some great Pizza vouchers in return for your help. Vicky is a great friend and a Ambleside legend as many people will know. So as we are financially unable to help her we would like to offer anyone who pledges to her Crowdfunder 20% off a booking of our guiding or hire equipment services!!
Please check out her Crowdfunder here
And please if you can take the time to spread the word about both projects!!
As always thank you and looking forward to sharing some adventures with you all soon,
Tom, Emily + Winnie

Today we have launched our Crowdfunder venture and we need your help.
We have had a fantastic start in 2015 and couldn’t have done it without the support of the local Shieldaig residents and some of the regular visitors to the area. We are now in a position to develop and grow. We aim to create a business that compliments other businesses in Shieldaig and the surrounding area. To do this we need to raise some funds to purchase more equipment and some business essentials such as a printer.
We started out from scratch 11 months ago and we now hope to expand our hire fleet to cater for larger groups and add sea kayaking to our list of adventures. We are also keen to join the 21st century and be able to take card payments, get the website finished, and get some advertising for the local area too!
Every little helps and we appreciate every donation and even ‘likes’ and ‘shares’ on your social media! We can’t do it without you!
In return, investors will receive some great rewards where you can discover more at the link below -
Once again, Thank You!
We look forward to our future adventures with you!
Hello and welcome to our first “real” blog post, we would like to update you on whats happening at Shieldaig Outdoor Adventures this winter and let you know about some exciting news!
So firstly we are coming up to the end of our first year of business and we would like to thank all of you who have supported us and shared adventures with us so far. We have had some great times and some real highlights have been our two-day bushcraft course in the woods with some of the local children and getting to know some of you Shieldaig regulars!
Christmas/New Year Activities
We are planning some small free activities for the festive period with the aim to meet as many of you as possible and show you some of the activities we will be providing in the next year (but mainly as a social).
On the 12th of December we will be running archery sessions at 10am, 11am, 12pm and 1pm. The sessions are suitable for all and it would be great to meet and catch up with you. There will be 8 places available in each session - contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 01520 755369 for more info.
On the 27th December we are planning a small leisurely walk based from Shieldaig to walk off some of the festive celebrations. We will meet at 10am by the primary School and go for a stroll around the peninsular. We will provide some light refreshments and look forward to sharing our plans for 2016. (Well behaved dogs/dogs on leads welcome).
Whats been happening in the office…….
In the last two weeks we have been pretty office bound. Its pretty hard for us as we prefer to be outside but sometimes its required. So what have we been doing;
- Developing some Shieldaig Outdoor Adventure walking courses
- Working with our friends to develop some very exciting collaborative courses
- Creating more content for our website, see shieldaigadventures.com
THE BIG NEWS!!!!!
So the big news…………We need YOUR HELP!!!
We have had a fantastic start in 2015 and couldn’t have done it without the support of the local Shieldaig residents and some of the regular visitors to the area.
We are now in a position to develop and grow. We aim to create a business that compliments other business in Shieldaig and the surrounding area. To do this we need to raise some funds to purchase more equipment and some business essentials such as a printer.
To raise funds we will be launching a Crowdfunder at the start of December. Crowdfunder is a new way of funding projects via the internet. People pledge money and in return receive rewards for their investment.
Our Crowdfunder will reward investors with opportunities to come on adventures with us. Perfect if you are a regular to the area on provide accommodation to holiday makers. There are a range of options to choose from however if you are a business and would like to invest we would happily work with you to tailor something to your needs.
If you would like to know more then please contact email@example.com
